Colour: Mysteries and Utilities

Instructor: David Aurandt BA., MA., MFA.

Begins November 1 2017

This six-week course is an exploration of theories about colour and its purposes in art and at home. Considerations will take account of advances in understanding colour from both science and art. Detailed examination of colour purposes and practice will be based on works by painters from selected traditions. A few practical exercises such as making colour harmonies will open new possibilities in personal expression for participants. The aim of the course is to introduce methods of knowing more about colour, objectively and subjectively, and practical ways of employing colour theory. No special previous knowledge or experience is required; all are welcome.
