September 17th – Join us for the inaugural lecture of this exciting new annual series!
RiverBrink Art Museum is excited to welcome David Aurandt to present our very first Director’s Lecture, titled “Without Arrival” – Canadian Art and the Idea of Canada. The development of art in Canada is contiguous with the growth and establishment of Canada as a nation. We are close to the 150th anniversary of Confederation and are now better able to see the enduring dynamics of our history and culture.
David Aurandt has been involved in curatorial work, education and arts administration in Canada and the US for over thirty years and has served as Director/Curator at RiverBrink Art Museum, Director of the Thunder Bay Art Gallery, a consultant for Eastman Kodak at the Creative Imaging Centre in Maine, the Director of Rodman Hall Arts Centre in St. Catharines and Executive Director of The Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa.
Join us for what promises to be an engaging afternoon!
This year, our Director’s Lecture is generously sponsored by Denis and Donna Greenall.
